S1 – Support in administration, application and development of the digital twin

Building on previous developments, service project S1 further advances and maintains the technical infrastructure of the digital twin within CRC 1463. The objective is to establish the digital twin as a systematically accessible, integrative tool for the design, operation, and ongoing development of offshore wind energy systems – enhancing its efficiency and usability, while also consolidating the developments across all subprojects within the Collaborative Research Centre.

At the core of S1 is the development and maintenance of a modular, high-performance infrastructure that supports the entire research consortium. This includes in particular:

  • Version control and software management to ensure reproducibility and long-term development of the digital twin,
  • Coordination of interfaces and support for implementation between sub-models and simulation tools,
  • Optimization of computational performance through efficient algorithms and structured codebases,
  • Maintenance of consistent and transparent documentation,
  • Preparation and support for publishing the digital twin under open-access conditions.

S1 thus provides the technological backbone for the digital twin in CRC 1463 – promoting both scientific collaboration and the long-term reusability of key research outcomes.
