Daniel Ribnitzky from the University of Oldenburg, together with co-authors Frederik Berger and Martin Kühn, has published a paper in the Journal of Physics: Conference Series, Vol. 2265. There was also a presentation at TORQUE 2022 on the new rotor concept introduced in the paper.

"We introduce an aerodynamic rotor concept for a 15 MW offshore wind turbine which is tailored for an increased power feed-in at low wind speeds. Within an innovative design approach, the blade is optimized for operation at two different tip-speed-ratios. Therefore, the limitation of the flapwise root bending moment through peak shaving is aerodynamically more efficient. The rotor concept is investigated on a wide range of scales - from an in-depth view on the rotor aerodynamics to economic considerations on the energy-system level."
